the smallville season finale isnt as great as i thought it wud be.. HOw Disappointing! ;( here's the gist of this episode's events; clark stole lionel luthor's kryptonite key to blow up his spaceship which resulted in a major explosion whose shockwaves sent the kent's red pickup crashing.. consequently, martha kent suffered a miscarriage. thus frustrated, jonathan kent blamed clark fer acting rashly & foolishly wifout prior consultation... Over at the luthors', helen patched things up wif lex & they happily got married. on their way to their honeymoon, they were drugged & lex woke up to find his private jet hurtling into a stormy ocean wif no other passengers in sight!! His daddy is SO devious!!! a crestfallen & confused clark seeks out red kryptonite ring & makes a major hasty decision to leave smallville despite lana's most sentimental pleas & decorous, dainty tears. Episode closes wif powerful image of clark riding off on his harley along a stretch of dirt road away frm the urban landscapes of smallville. END. i'm beginning to detest clark & his wimpy ways.. he's behaving like a prepubescent teenager wif a major identity crisis.. & why must he be mr.goodygoodytwoshoes & keep on doing things that he thinks is fer the benefit of evryone else Only to eventually discover that his actions have led to the MOST dire consequences?? haha.. Wadever~ methinks last week's episode was MUCH better.
anyway, i watched Superman; the movie vcd this late afternoon.. and fer a movie made in 1978 (more than two decades ago!) the film is not so bad. the first half of the movie is dedicated to clark's history frm krypton & his growing up days in smallville whilst the second half featured christopher reeves (long before the freak accident that made him a quadriplegic) as the hero in red undies.. ;p Margot kidder plays a convincing lois lane and gene hackman is a sardonic lex luthor. the special effects aren't too great but the movie DOES have some great cinematic moments especially the scene where superman takes lois out on a flying excursion. one of the highlights of this movie however, is its rousing score by john williams & the effective superman theme... it's distinctiveness is what makes this movie so relatable. (trivia: superman the movie had an oscar nomination for best score) ---- 3/5 stars!
