that is what "Rahsia Perkahwinan" translates to.. doesnt it sound absolutely drama-mama in english?? LOL. i watched my first & unfortunately, final, episode of this ten part drama series just now and i must admit, it wasnt as bad as i expected it to be. But then, i think i laughed at all the wrong parts! (eg. i found it so hilarious to see nuraliza osman reduced to a madwoman becuz of her obsession wif khairudin samsudin's character) Granted, it's not your standard run-of-the-mill suria drama; alot of effort have been put in the making of this ten parter.. However, i feel that the finale was abit of a disappointment; alot of things seemed to be left hanging.. Did Farid & Maznah finally get back together? What will happen to their wayward daughter yunisa (dalina jaapar)? is beauty queen nuraliza osman ever gonna become sane again??? but i guess maybe the producers are keeping us in suspense til the second season comes along. ;P
unresolved issues aside, at least the young couple, imran & rozita (khairudin samsudin & sharon ismail respectively) have reconciled & looked set to enjoy a second honeymoon in mauritius, no less! power seh!! haha. actually, i've seen snippets of the show & thought that for a local production, its pretty impressive. the cast, made up of tv veterans & newbies, were engaging wifout having to resort to cheap theatrics. nuraliza osman too, excelled at being the resident bitch although i feel that she was really too over-the-top in some of her 'demented' scenes. besides this minor flaw, she wasnt too bad to watch and even deserves accolades fer possessing the courage to ditch her smart & sophisticated beauty queen image to play a low, conniving she-devil. LOL.. all in all, a splendid production which isnt as maudlin as jeritan sepi or as contrived & formulaic as dua wajah... ;)
one good thing about rahsia perkahwinan which i failed to bring up earlier, is its pertinency in today's age where divorce is so prevalent amongst young muslim couples. there are alot of factors which may give rise to this terrifying phenomenon, most of which were explored at length in the show but ultimately, the secret to a happy marriage isnt as clear-cut as it seems on television... take it from sumone who have had the opportunity to examine UNhappy marriages at close range.. ;) personally, i think marriage is grossly overRated.
