the house is sooo quiet today. my sister has returned to her flat at tohguan and thus, i won't be seeing my little niece Azie fer the next few days... wifout her boisterous presence here, the atmosphere seems so DEAD actually. already, i'm missing that bouncy, effervescent three-year old. *haiz* Oh well, at least i'm spared some of her obnoxious habits fer the time being (especially the way she juz luuurrves to jump up & down on my bed as if on a trampoline). ;)
i woke up slightly after 1pm juz now... i'm such a sloth aren't i?? but i guess it cant be helped cuz i spent a rather exhausting nite at geylang yesterday. Was there wif chacha & a couple of his frens (one of whom, amazingly, hasnt set foot at geylang yet) and thus i decided to go bajukurung-hunting. lady luck, however, didnt seem to be on my side cuz the ONly kurung design which i liked (this gorgeous brownish-bronze thingy) was not available in my size. actually, i had been in LOVE wif that particular design & color eversince i first laid my eyes on it earlier this month but being the procrastinator that i am, i did NOt get it when i had the chance. okie, okie.. it's really all my fault fer being so indecisive initially but seriously, i can't help being so meticulous over my choice of kurung... i'm on a tight budget this year!!! :( Well anyhow, i didnt miss my last bus this time round (thankfully) & reached home shortly after midnite. truthfully speaking however, i'm still abit disgruntled becuz i couldnt get what i wanted and am certainly NOT looking forward to another geylang trip juz to get a suitable kurung. Dammit!! why am i so petite-sized??? i wish i was bulkier a bit or more hefty... then i wont have to go fer the small sizes all the time.. *sobsob!*
finally finished making pineapple tarts a couple of hours before iftar... & i've tasted them already. Very NIce!! Tarts are one of my fave hari raya cookies (besides kuih suji!) becuz i juz lurrrve the sweet pineapple filling at the centre of each tart! yummy!! hahaha.. but of course, mom helped out alot wif the baking cuz i'm bound to get all the tarts burnt to a crisp in the oven if i'm left to my own devices! :P Ah well, i'm not much of a kitchen person anyway... For iftar, i cooked the packet of instant satay meat (replete wif instant gravy) which i bought at the supermarket yesterday & it was SO delicious!! even mom agreed wif me despite all her doubts previously (so far, i've had quite a number of bad experiences wif anything "instant" wif the exclusion of maggi...). What wif a sumptuous iftar, and the continuous snacking i've done in the hours after that, i'm feelin quite bloated right now... it's a wonder that i've not grown much fatter already! LOL Perhaps all the fatty deposits are accumulating in my brain instead of at the desired places?? that would explain my blatant laziness these days... hmmmmm.. SO watEverlah DuanDuan!
the current fad amongst youngsters right now is friendster.com & i'm proud to admit i've got all of TEN friends under my contacts.. HAhaha! Quite pathetic i know but this can't be helped becuz--> 1. i'm not schoolin anymore & thus the number of people i interact with has been greatly reduced & 2. i'm not a very sociable person anyway. Seriously, i'm much too old fer sites like these that promise to assist you in making new friends & acquaintances (or sumthing to that effect anyway).. LOL My number of contacts isnt goin to grow any time soon i'm afraid... But then, i think i'm pretty much satisfied wif those frens i have currently. ;)
watched abit of andrew firestone juz now on The Bachelor. Wat a lucky devil... not only does he get a beautiful blonde bombshell wife, he is practically living a life of decadent luxury!! & NOt only is he CUTE, he's RICH too! DAMN~ i wish i have a vineyard of my own! grrrrr~!
i think i've about had it fer today. am not very certain of what i'd be doing tomorrow though.. five more days to hari raya! it's really rather frightening to think about it.. cuz i've still yet to clear that mess under my bed! LOL
