I didnt catch the results show at all but I did learn of the bewildering ousting of ms LaToya London way before its screening on channel 5. Thus, the reign of the dueling divas is finally over albeit prematurely.
To a certain extent, the continuation of Diana Degarmo & Jasmine Trias, the two underdogs in the competition, into the top three positions is abit of a shocker in itself. Diana may have proven herself worthy in recent weeks to be where she is right now but Jasmine certainly didnt and AI fans may recall a similar event which occurred in season one when the very talented Tamyra Gray was eliminated in favor of NIkki McRibbin. In any case, the previous ousting of Jennifer Hudson this season had already affirmed the belief that anything is possible in this competition (which is ruled majorly by the contestant's popularity with viewers rather than pure, unadulterated talent per se).
Well, pretty girl Jasmine has certainly done the Asian community proud but her victory to garner a position as a top-three finalist has a certain bittersweet tang to it.
