the weekend - part two

On sunday morning, my dear mother woke me up at around nine and somehow, successfully used emotional blackmail to coerce me to help my neighbour's moving out. Just imagine: I had only gotten less than five hours of sleep, hadnt had any breakfast, yet there I was spending the rest of my sunday morning carrying dingy furniture instead of sitting in front of the telly watchin cartoons. how shitty~! As a form of consolation, I mentally noted that this was the most neighbourly thing to do and it was totally in line with my resolution to become a more gracious singaporean. ~ :p

In the afternoon, had a family outing to my elder bro's (he allegedly had a fever) place for a social visit & was there 'til early evening. However, around nine in the evening, received an emergency call from my sis-in-law; my bro's fever had shot up to 39degrees~! Thereafter, my sis and I hurriedly took a cab down back to his place to send him to NUH A&E. Waited for the goddamn doctor for so long, I could have grown roots! By midnight, my bro was finally admitted into the observation ward and thus my sis returned home first while I continued to wait like a donkey at the hospital lobby. Correction: I was a HOT donkey because the aircon was OFF and with the night being so humid, it was either I sat outside on the plastic chairs and let the mosquitos feast on me or remain indoors on the comfy sofas and try to bear with the stuffiness. Neither option seemed attractive but I chose the latter.

THankfully, by 2 a.m, the doctors decided that my bro was hale enough to return home (much to his disappointment) for his convalescence. Before I left for home, something dreadful happened -- I dropped by the 7-eleven store to get a bottled drink of lemon tea; however I was so busy counting my change that I left my purchase at the cashier counter & only realized this when I was halfway home on the cab! So what's so dreadful about it, you might ask? well, I HATE to be such an absent-minded klutz. Seriously, it's very unbecoming for someone of my age & maturity... LOL

With all these going-ons, it's no wonder that I feel so drained today. I think this is what a zombie must feel like...
