warning: this is a totally dull and pointless bloggy entry.. Read at own risk~! ;p
I was at the suntec city food court last saturday (around 9pm) when I had a sudden craving for some black, spicy carrot cake. However, the stall selling the stuff was manned by this gruesome chinese uncle whose brusque way of talking kinda intimidated me a little.. Well anyway, he assumed that i wanted WHITE carrot cake (I couldnt understand his ghastly singlish at all!) and when I finally realized this a few minutes later, it was already too late. Or so he claimed; the order had been cooked and was soon ready. SO there I was with a plate of white carrot cake, feeling a little bit pissed off. Fortunately, it wasnt as bad as I thought, though it was a tad too mild for my tastebuds. At any rate, my craving for black, spicy, carrot cake wasnt appeased...
This evening, I dropped by Scotts picnic for late dinner... and you guessed it; I immediately scouted for a carrot cake stall. This time round, I made it very clear right from the start that I wanted my c.c. BLACk and SPICY. The serving was really huge; enough to feed two starving kids from Somalia probably... but then, that's about the only good thing about the c.c. at Scotts Picnic. It wasnt black enough, spicy enough and ultimately... it tasted like damp cardboard seasoned with ajinamoto. But of course, I'm just exaggerating ;p
And thus, I've given up on carrot cake cravings for now. Should have stuck to good old chicken rice. Or mee siam; in my honest opinion, you can never go wrong with mee siam~!
