I was on the train last night on my way home from town when I saw a bunch of chinese teenagers (the type you see at arcades para-sakura-ing the night away.. ;p ) crowding over a particular area near the doors of the cabin I was in. I paid no heed to the commotion they were making amongst themselves 'til I realized the subject of their amusement; adjacent to them, on a nearby seat, was an old malay man, sleeping with his mouth wide (and it was really wide) open! Seriously, it wouldnt have been such a big deal because all sorts of people can be found sleeping on the train all the time, in the most hilarious, or awkward, of positions; however, those youths were too much! Some of the kids who were equipped with camera fones were busy snapping pics of the old man while a couple of the braver ones even tried posing with him, whilst imitating the same mouth-ajar stance... Despite disapproving glances from other passengers, they kept up with their racket for at least five stations before they finally alighted. Even thinking back about it right now is making me quite mad --- I wish I had accosted them and derided them for their insensitive & callous behaviour... Probably I wasnt able to muster up enough spunk to do so & was too afraid to make a fool of myself; or maybe it's my singaporean "it's not my problem, so why should I bother?" mentality.

It figures -- my life is full of wasted opportunities...
