The weekend went by in the blink of an eye... This phrase pretty much sums up how I feel about my saturday and sunday. On both days, I was up by 9am (which is quite early for a weekend, by MY standards.. ) and spent most of the day, and night, outside.

On saturday, was down at geylang (like for the fourth time this ramadhan, i think) with my mommy & sis; as is the norm every year, I was mostly around just to help them lug the stuff they bought & look after my little niece. yeah, I was like a bell-boy cum babysitter~! It would have been a pretty sian occasion had it not been for the fact that I FINALLY found the baru kurung I've been looking for (i.e just the perfect shade of blue!)... and I'm quite smug about it too cuz I didn't have to spend a bomb on it ;p Anyway, geylang during the day is much, much different from what it is in the night. For one thing, the crowd is soooo much tamer and less pushy. Moreover, there are hardly any minahs and mats around... and that's really quite a relief! LOL

geylang in the day: definitely a more pleasant experience... :) Posted by Hello

After a short rest at home, rushed down to town to meet a fren for iftar. Although I was rather reluctant initially to break-fast at delifrance cityhall, the meal turned out to be surprisingly rather yummy. I've never been much of a roti and soup person but that evening, I managed to finish everything on my plate and left not a single crumb! Or perhaps, I was just too hungry???? hmmmm

Sunday, I followed my mom & sis (again) to look-see my uncle who was recently discharged from NUH. I think he had been warded for a month plus and I've been to see him like twice a week so far. The visits, though, can be rather depressing; his left arm is all wrapped up in a cast because most of the skin and muscle there had been torn off following an accident at his work place. There's only the slightest glimmer of hope that he would regain full use of his left arm and it seems that my uncle is in pain all the time -- physically and emotionally. I mean, can you imagine the horror of seeing your arm stuck in a grinding machine and have your blood spurting by the gallons down your shirt and then, you just know that you've gotta yank your arm out no matter how terrible the pain is??? Well, that was the gist of what my uncle experienced and he even admitted he still has terrifying visions of the incident up til now... But he's a brave man and alhamdullillah, by some kind of God's miracle, he did not suffer any serious fractures... Of course, it's pretty sad this had to happen so close to Hari Raya but then, tragic things do happen to people, regardless of time or season, and we just have to bear up and accept whatever God has ordained for us...

arab street's masjid sultan...  Posted by Hello

on a lighter note, I still managed to squeeze a little time before iftar on sunday to drop by Arab Street and get those quaint, but gorgeous, sandals I've been eyeing ever since a fortnight ago... I'm a little wiser now about those shops over there: NEVER drop by after 630pm because that's when they start to close... ;p (okie.. i'm such a dope for not knowing this before!) Eh, on second thought, I think my sandals look abit pakcik-looking... OHH well...

PS: I think my aggravating tag-board is down.. again! Seriously, tag-board has more mood-swings than I do!

PS2: A very happy birthday to a friend of mine whose special day just passed... Best Wishes always! ;)
