festival of lights.. and slumber?

I've always considered myself to be a good boy (hehe) but I must admit I did something quite crazy -- and mean -- yesterday while on the bus. I was sitting down on 240 somewhere near the back, minding my own business as usual, when this cheena aunty who looked like she was in her late thirties, sat beside me while her ah-pek husband took the seat behind. So there I was in ignorant bliss when a swish of hair whipped me across my left cheek! I was abit shocked, naturally, for a moment or two but before I could dismiss it as a figment of my over-active imagination, it happened again! Swish! Apparently, each time she wanted to tell her hubby something in that high-pitched & annoying voice of hers, she'd perform this rapid head-turn to look behind, which would send her impertinent, smelly, disgusting, and scraggly, ponytail of hair flying into the left side of my face... Half-a-dozen of such swish-swashing was enough to make any sane person quite disagreeable, I tell you.

By the time my stop finally came, a number of passengers had alighted and the aforesaid auntie decided to rush for the newly-vacant seats a little in front which were nearer to the exit. Unbeknown to her, I was directly at her heels and as she was taking her seat, I helped her into it, albeit none too gently, with my raised right knee!! Ok ok... so I actually shoved her but then I was using my knee right? So it wasn't a shove... just a little push maybe? Of course I didnt stay around to inspect the damage, and I was off the bus & walking briskly away in a matter of seconds...

I think I could probably attribute my irritable demeanour to the ill-health I've been having of late. On tuesday night, I was literally down with a pretty high fever and a temperature check after iftar revealed it to be at a soaring 38 degrees. Fortunately, my days as a medic during my NS days are rather handy under such situations... A couple of panadols, a cold shower and gallons of fluids down my throat, and sure enough, my temp dropped to a cool 36.8 degrees by bedtime. TODAY however, I seem quite hale enough except for a mild headache, and thus, if the weather permits, I'd be busy cleaning the living room windows later on. SEE? I AM a good boy! LOL

It's a public holiday and most probably evryone in the neighbourhood is sleeping in late; but then the clock on my wall tells me that it's already 1.45pm. Yet it's STIll dead quiet outside. Hmmmm... Where are all those kids that never fail to make a racket at the badminton court downstairs??? Anyhow, my mom forgot to wake us up for sahor this morning and I cant help envisioning the glass of fresh coconut juice which I placed in the fridge last night. DAMN. Am now determined to stop thinking about such things and keep myself occupied today 'til iftar. Shall also endeavour not to leave home & subject myself to the rigours of life outside in the sun... EH, it's looking rather hot outside; perhaps cleaning windows aint such a good idea afterall??? ;p

PS: Here's wishing a happy Deepavali to all~! Cheers~!!
