moon peeking over the block, a.k.a, the result of having nothing better to do... ;p  Posted by Hello

There's a wake going on downstairs and thus, I can still hear the voices of some people chitchatting even at this ungodly hour of the night. Mother told me that the old granny that lived upstairs had finally passed away; No longer will her familiar figure greet me at my block's lift landing on weekday evenings. On such occasions, I remember, she would be busy fanning herself with a newspaper while accosting passing neighbours or acquaintances with her gruff greetings. Sometimes, as she sat there at the bottom steps of the staircase, she would cast her beady eyes at me with grave suspicion whenever I had to walk pass her to take the lift, as if I was some malicious outsider with criminal intent. At other times though, those same eyes would light up warmly with recognition as she returned my smile. She was a relic of the old days; a sort of adornment on those stairs which I know I will not forget so easily...

It's Christmas but while others are out merry-making, here I am in my room feeling wistful and nostalgic... Hmmmm. I wonder what Santa Claus would do in Singapore though, if he truly exists. Slide down the rubbish chute to put presents beneath our television sets??? With him being so bloated with harmful cholesterol & all, he would probably die of physical exhaustion/heart attack/stroke before he could even complete his rounds in one HDB constituency. But of course, I NEVer believed in Santa Claus & all that crap about the north pole; I've always thought that the idea of a big, fat Caucasian man giving away presents for free is too good to be true... LOL

Oh well.. before I ramble any further, here's a Merry Christmas to evryone. Cheeers~!
