I was terribly bored last saturday and didn't know what to do. Since being a couch potato at home was not a favorable option, I decided to let my nose lead me to someplace more interesting...

... and following the smell of the crowd (or is it the putrid smell of bak kwa??) I found myself face to face with a giant.. erm.. cock.. :p Honestly, I've never seen a rooster so gaudily dressed before...

Of course, a trip to Chinatown wouldn't be complete if one didn't venture into the bustling pasar malam tents...

... where I saw a myriad of characters; from street peddlars and their snakes...

... and devotees making their offerings...

I saw many other things too; Each vision adding on to the next until they formed a kaleidoscopic array of disorienting colors in my mind...

Thus, I was more than a little glad when the time finally came to say goodbye to the crowds in Chinatown... and that was when I noticed the lonely Indian temple that stood at the heart of these activities...

And on that note, I would like to wish everyone out there a Happy Chinese New Year~! Here's a toast to Singapore's racial diversity and religious tolerance!! ;)
