The Good

It is evident that Jessica and Carrie have alot in common: they are blonde, abit on the fleshy side, and have rich, strong vocal tones. However, Carrie is the prettier one and thus, has a larger following as compared to Jessica, who was in the bottom three last week. Although previous efforts to diversify herself have proven futile, Carrie managed to pull off a rock number incredibly well last night (despite her humongous coiffure), earning accolades from Paula & Randy, and a favourable tarot card reading from Simon. Jessica was all good too, though frankly speaking, her performance didn't really climax the way I thought it should.

Vonzell was also another competitor in fine form; her vocals wasn't pitchy like in previous weeks and her showmanship is definitely improving by leaps and bounds. In contrast, Bo downplayed his performance, opting for something soft and sensitive; but it's all good too and just goes to show how confident he is of his position as a front-runner in this competition.

The Not-So-Good

The only thing about Nadia worth mentioning this week, unfortunately, was her mohawk but she probably had it done on purpose to detract us from her dismal vocals on Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time. Ultimately though, she is still an amazing performer.

After hearing Latoya London's Ain't Nobody last season, it is difficult to be anything but bored by Anwar's interpretation of this song. Let's face it, he's much better off doing ballads. Like him (though not necessarily in the same calibre), Nikko and Scott are gifted singers too but their performances yesterday were, in my honest opinion, not very engaging. Furthermore, Scott's stripper tendencies were very disturbing.

The Bad

Constantine's vocals will never match Bo's so naturally, he has to constantly up the "shock" factor of his performances but this time, I thought, it didn't go very well; he sounded amateurish, like any other teenage rock-wannabe at a jamming session. But then, at least he's got that natural charisma working for him, unlike poor Anthony whose dance moves (consisting of some very awkward pelvic thrusts) didn't seem to be doing any good. Moreover, I didn't think it was a suitable song choice as it didn't showcase the "wow" factor of his vocals effectively.

Honestly, I'm rooting for Mikalah (her humour is infectious!) but she's clearly the underdog in this competition especially eversince she got in the top 12. Like last week, she managed to hit all the high notes right on Love Will Lead You Back, but mostly, her vocals were shaky and sounded really grotesque. *sigh* What happened to her??? :(

My bottom three predictions this week: Mikalah, Scott and Jessica.
Most likely to be eliminated: Mikalah.
