I bought a white fluorescent light bulb (one of those energy-saving type) last nite at Sheng Shiong supermart to replace the yellow, 25watt bulb my study light is using. As I was twisting the new bulb in its place however, I accidentally broke it. Talk about underestimating my own strength! LOL. But it was my fault anyway -- I probably had screwed it on too tight or something. Oh well...
On a sidenote, I went down to the esplanade bridge last saturday evening to look at the fireworks display, NOT on purpose, mind you. It was unintentional because a friend of mine really wanted to see it and I was like "Today got fireworks ar?? How come I don't know??" (It has been disclosed -- I am a pseudo-bimbo. Not a blond one somemore. LOL).
Thus, we stationed ourselves somewhere at the center of the bridge, slightly before 8pm, and I was mutterring under my breath the whole time about my stupidity of not bringing along my digicam so that I might be able to snap photos of the occasion. The cam on my hp is real lousy so I didn't even bother using THAT. At any rate, the fireworks started a little late and it wasn't all that amazing and unique, seeing how I've seen much more impressive displays in the past. Still, it was interesting to look around at the awed faces of strangers and little kids who went "OOooooh" and "AHhhhhh" whenever a big one exploded in the sky, throwing off colored lights in the shape of a bunga manggar.
Of course, I decided to be an arse and elicited a couple of exaggerated "OOOooh"s and "Ahhhhhhh"s, very loudly, just for the fun of it because it was indeed a very run-of-the-mill display -- even the climatic final showburst of fireworks was a little dismal. Or maybe I'm just being a tad fastidious. Wateverlah...
