In a nutshell: A modern remake of the popular tv series of the same name from the sixties, which made a household name out of its female lead, Elizabeth Montgomery, who in turn, made nose-twitching the "in" thing to do. NOT! Anyway, this reworking is scripted and directed by Nora Ephron, who was also responsible for the much-loved When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless In Seattle, and You've Got Mail.3 reasons why you should watch this film:
1) Its a remake of hit television show Bewitched.
2) The perpetually wacky Will Ferrell is in it. I loved watching him in Elf. He's like a cross between the lovable average-joe of Tom Hanks and the slap-sticky antics of Jim Carrey
3) If the two above reasons aren't good enough, you should watch it because of Nicole Kidman. She has an impeccable sense for comic timing and her scenes with veteran thespian Michael Caine are really worth looking out for. Is there anything which ex-Mrs Tom Cruise canNOT do??
3 reasons why you should NOT watch this film:
1) The romantic pairing of Kidman and Ferrel doesn't really work as well as, say, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. They (i.e the former pair) really look odd together at times...
2) Nora Ephron's show-within-a-show story tries to be clever and ingenious but the movie just ended up being too clunky and disjointed. Half of the time, nothing seems to be making any sense and the jokes fall abit flat.
3) It's a saccharine-sweet romantic comedy =p
