jukebox playin': Rio Febrian - Ku Ada Di Sini
Tiada sesapa yang bersalah; cuma keadaan...-- Dwi (pathetic crybaby) to half-brother Eka (impulsive hothead).
I don't know why I'm glued to this show. The storyline has more twists and turns than the curls on Sharifah Aini's head. The villains are so.. er.. villainous... they make my toes curl and blood boil with every single on-screen second. And the show's pretty protagonist, Dia (played effectively with wide-eyed innocence by Lulu Tobing) is so blatantly good, not to mention annoyingly gullible, that it makes me cringe. Well, almost anyway.
Dia is a character so full of overpowering (and exemplary) goodness, that she seems unrealistic. But one can't help rooting for her and Irfan because there is probably no pair of lovers more star-crossed on tv than they. And have you ever seen witches/bitches more conniving and scheming than the mother and daughter pair, Fifi and Susi? Have you ever seen such epitomes of evil more immaculately groomed?? LOL
I started out swearing to myself never to catch another episode of Dia again (after last season's disappointing finale) but after a few weeks of resistance, I finally gave in and began watching the show again in earnest. Blame it on my niece and my mom, who are die-hard Dia fans and won't let anyone else touch the remote during the two-hour time-slot when it's on air. My mom, in particular, insists she's watching the show because Lulu Tobing is just too pretty(!!). Whatever the case, I'm forced to give Desperate Housewives a miss (due to clashing showtimes) but Dia seems like a worthy alternative.
Despite the odds against them, I can't help madly hoping that there is a future for Dia and Irfan. Yes -- I am a closet romantic afterall... =p
