I haven't been online for the last few days because of an apparent connection "problem." It turned out that the problem wasn't much of a problem afterall and here's the gist of the story... further testament that I can be very sotong at times.
Tuesday night
Discovered that couldn't surf the Internet, although able to log on using username and password as per normal. Didn't think much about it. Too tired to think about anything, actually.
Wednesday
Still couldn't surf. Contacted technical helpdesk. Nice gentleman guided me using step by step instructions to reset internet settings. When that didn't work, modem was re-installed. But to no avail. Determined that source of problem could be with resident phone line; appointment made for servicing of line on Friday morning.
Thursday
Still couldn't surf. Felt very despondent and restless.
Friday (yesterday)
Technician arrived and inspected phone line. Concluded that the latter wasn't the problem at all. This was illustrated most emphatically when he was able to surf the net using test laptop and modem. My current modem's functionality and computer settings are the subsequent suspects. Suddenly felt very stressed cuz' had to face prospect of heading to Sim Lim Sq to hunt down new modem during the weekend.
Wee hours of Saturday (0100hrs or thereabouts..)
Light dawned upon yours truly -- Anti-virus software uninstalled and re-installed. Configuration problem lah... Suddenly felt like most stewpid person in whole universe.
But then, I'm so happy that I'm finally able to surf the net and blog again~!! *grins sheepishly*
