last Friday:
Had to rush down to Bukit Panjang after work for tuition. The 'N' levels are here!!! Very stressed out. Then, after iftar at JEC's KFC (where were the free dates???), went down to the Suria Raya Carnival at Bugis for a look-see. I've heard rumours that it was a let-down but I didn't realise it was THAT crappy! What a waste of my time...
last Saturday:
Tuition in the afternoon -- prepped my kid for his upcoming streaming exams and was told by his mom that he would need A-maths and Physics lessons starting next year. A-maths and Physics!!! Well, A-maths isn't too bad actually but the prospect of having to teach these two dreadful subjects is certainly very unappealing. Am very tempted to quit tuition especially since the kid's mom is waayyyyy behind on payment (and I'm grossly underpaid!!!) but really, I've been doing this more for the kid's benefit rather than for the money... or perhaps I've just been deluding myself??? Whatever!
Went down to Orchard afterwards and caught Little Miss Sunshine at Lido after iftar. Excellent film! Loved it to bits... but Lido 4 seats were cramped worse than sardines in a can. Spent remainder of night wandering aimlessly in town, mostly window-shopping. Ended up buying the XMenIII DVD and (on impulse) the Grinch vcd at Carrefour. Came home tired and worn-out, but more importantly, I've got my XMEN!!! Review coming up soon...
last Sunday:
Off to Geylang with my family in the early afternoon. So much more happening than Kampong Glam. However, I decided to get my baju kurung some other day instead. Then, made a solo side-trip to Bras Basah Complex where I spent a bomb on some books at the Popular Bookshop outlet there. Also window-shopped again, but this time at Citilink Mall and Marina Square (fast becoming my fave shopping destination) -- got for myself a couple of new t-shirts. VERY happy. Will probably stay happy as long as I don't check my bank account. LOL.
Predictably, came home very tired from all the day's walking.
Monday (yesterday):
SUPER long day. Was on my feet most of the time... felt like I could just keel over unconscious from exhaustion at any time but of course, it didn't happen. Too bad lah. Rushed home and managed to squeeze an hour's worth of much-needed sleep before iftar. After that, rushed down to BP by cab for tuition. By the time I got back, it was a quarter to midnight and I still had some bloody ironing to do!!! On top of all the rushing here and there and yonder, can't help worrying about how well my kid will do for his N levels exams. Or how badly. I don't like to be too optimistic...
Right now:
I need sleep. LOADS of it....
