Hemidactylus frenatus or also known in layman terms as the common house gecko -- my number one nemesis or arch-enemy.

I was in the kitchen the other day trying to scare up something for a late night supper when I spotted this HUGE slimy creature high up on the wall near the kitchen's entryway. Armed with a can of insecticide in one hand (chemical warfare) and mom's trusty penyapu (hand-to-hand combat) I waited for it to crawl within reach (because I'm quite vertically-challenged, you know).

A few minutes later (seemed like an eternity) the damned reptile made a mad dash for the dark crevices of the kitchen cabinet but I gave it a good dose of Baygone (to stun him?) before giving it a good whack with the aforementioned penyapu.

Amazingly, a couple more forceful whacks were needed before the bloordy thing finally stopped wriggling (in the throes of death??). Here's a photo (courtesy of my LG Chocolate's cam.) of that dreadful creature with its tail gone and the lower half of its body smashed to smithereens...

What can I say? I just HATE lizards. Period.
