... has grown up! She's no longer the rosy-cheeked toddler with irresistible little curls framing her angelic face. Today, a precocious school girl forever bursting with questions and perpetual chatter. For my baby now is in primary One and as of last week, she has turned all of 7 years of age!
Yes -- it is the time for me to once again sigh heavily and exclaim "How fast time has flown!" It seemed like only yesterday, I was carrying my little baby in my arms and pointing out to her the various animals at the zoo... Even 'til today, when I go about the house looking for her, I always instinctively call out "Baby? Baby! Where are you??" only to find her in some little corner either playing schoolteacher with her stuffed toys, attempting to read aloud a book by herself or simply drawing pictures on one of her many scrapbooks. And simply looking at her engaged in either one of these activities fills me with awe and amazement. Is this the same baby who could barely speak or walk just a few years ago???
Anyway, enough of me being sickeningly sentimental! Being a believer that good habits have to be cultivated when young, I bought a couple of Dr Seuss books as birthday gifts (must turn her into a bookworm! grrr!), and of course, the obligatory chocolate cake. I haven't the heart to deprive a seven-year-old little girl the pleasure of blowing out candles on a cake on her birthday! So here's to my little baby... with the hope that she'll grow up into a strong, intelligent and pretty individual who will have a meaningful and happy life! AMIN! ;)
PS: Isn't she just too cute for words!??
