end of the week

I just woke up from a twelve-hour slumber. No, I'm not a sloth -- I think it was to make up for all the late nights I've had this past week; I only had, on average, 4 hours of sleep per night. And of course, that is grossly insufficient when compared to the 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep the average human needs to function at maximum efficiency. (However, one of my friends, who was in nursing, ever told me that 5 hours is enough for those whose careers do not need them to exert themselves physically. Sure or not???)

I'm feeling abit smug because I have been on time (and even as much as fifteen minutes early!) for all my lessons eversince Monday. Some may think that's really nothing to be amazed about but those who know me better will know that it's quite an accomplishment on my part -- I'm seldom, if ever, punctual for my social appointments. LOL. I'm not sure how long it (i.e. my sudden streak of goodness!) will last though. Nevertheless, to keep my conscience clear, I have to admit that I cheated on Wednesday -- I took cab~! :p

Unfortunately, there are tonnes of group assignments to be completed, with a couple of deadlines just looming around the corner. Being a typical social pariah and misfit, I really dread group-work with all my might and main, and whenever one of my professors says "For this assignment, you need to find your own group...", I would feel a shiver down my spine and my mind would be gripped with the icy fear that I'd be the one left miserably groupless, only to be saved eventually by a group generous enough to let me join them.

Thank God, for my wry sense of humour -- it has saved me from mental breakdown on numerous occasions. =)

Just for the record, there were some moments when my humour did not particularly work in my favour; like that time when I thought the lecturer said something hilarious and I chuckled out loud on impulse, only to discover that no one else thought it was in the remotest bit funny!

Recently, one of friends commented "You're always so busy nowadays..." I've forgotten what my verbal reply was but I do remember what my inner voice said... Yah right. Either really busy or act busy only.

But in all honesty, I do have a lot things that keep me occupied.

For instance, I have TWO tuition sessions later in the afternoon.. one after another. Four hours wasted just like that. And that's why, for me, the weekend only begins on saturday evening... *sigh*
