.. i'm a sotong!* Dropped by the Jurong Regional Library again earlier this evening to return my overdue grammar book (which I havent finished reading) and my delightful x-men trade paperbacks. the other time I was there, I didnt really fully explore the place and thus, today, I was practically like a crazy person going up and down the freakin escalator, trying to locate the adult fiction section. I'm not sure if anyone noticed though... After almost twenty minutes of searching, I finally approached one of the makciks at the level 2 information counter (my male-egoistic side loathes asking for directions) for help...
To my utter surprise (and humiliation?), she told me it was at level one. I had originally assumed that the library people organized the place much like the Woodlands Regional Library, where the borrowing sections are all on the upper floors. Boy~ was I mistaken! Another sotong moment occurred a few minutes later when I tried to find J.k Rowling's Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire (the computerised catalogue system showed that there was ONE copy still left on the shelves) but to no avail. First of all, I didnt know if it was shelved in the adult section or the children's department. Whatever the case, it wasnt on the adult shelves and looking for it in the children's department was like looking for a needle in a haystack; it was THAT messy~!!
Oh well, I'd probably just buy the book at MPH or Kinokuniya during their next sale or something... whenever that is~! I've learnt one thing for sure, though; my sense of direction isnt as impeccable as I thought it was!!! LOL
note: *sotong is the malay word for squid and it is often used in colloquial singaporean english to denote a feeling of blurness or confusion.
